They had six new songs that would end up being the centrepiece of what became the ‘’Out of Step’’ 12" EP. The band had also decided to re-record the song "Out of Step" with some extra language to try to clarify the lyrics, as well as "Cashing In", a tongue-in-cheek song about the DC punk scene which they had only played live once. After much debate, "Cashing In" was added as a hidden track on the original vinyl release though not listed on the cover or label. There was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with the working title, "Addams Family" and then recorded new versions of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a coda to "Cashing In", but the other two songs were never mixed and largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken into the studio to be digitized in 2021. Surprised by the discovery, Ian and Don Zientara mixed the two songs along with the complete take of "Addams Family". From groups whose awareness of genealogy spreads wide enough to openly acknowledge Gang of Four's influence (Fugazi, Rage Against the Machine), to those not in touch with their ancestry enough to realize it (rap-metal, some indie rock) -- all have appropriated elements of their forefathers' trailblazing contribution. Its vaguely funky rhythmic twitch, its pungent, pointillistic guitar stoccados, and its spoken/shouted vocals have all been picked up by many. Lyrically, the album was apart from many of the day, and it still is. The band rants at revisionist history in "Not Great Men" ("No weak men in the books at home"), self-serving media and politicians in "I Found That Essence Rare" ("The last thing they'll ever do?/Act in your interest"), and sexual politics in "Damaged Goods" ("You said you're cheap but you're too much"). Though the brilliance of the record thrives on the faster material -- especially the febrile first side -- a true highlight amongst highlights is the closing "Anthrax," full of barely controlled feedback squalls and moans. Reissue of the 1979 and third album by 'the only band that matters'. It features all 19 of the original tracks, including the hidden hit 'Train in Vain. Bursting at the seams with creative energy, The Clash's stunning 1979 double album is now considered one of the greatest albums of all time. With ex-Mott the Hoople producer Guy Stevens harnessing their sound as never before, the band yielded what proved to be the best work of their career. Bouncing from hard rock (the apocalyptic vision of the title track) to rockabilly ('Brand New Cadillac') to reggae ('Judy Can't Fail') to pop (the top 40 hit 'Train in Vain'), The Clash knocked down all musical walls.

The Cramps A Date With Elvis was originally released on Big Beat in 1986 and remains a defining statement of the band’s lurid rock’n’roll vision. Blending trashy rockabilly, garage punk and horror-soaked theatrics, the record distils their unmistakable sound into a tight set of swaggering, reverb-drenched cuts. A cornerstone of their catalogue, it has introduced generations of listeners to the band’s twisted take on American roots music and remains one of their most enduring releases.
The Cramps’ Look Mom No Head! is a gleefully over-the-top blast of rock ’n’ roll excess, packed with roaring guitars, dark humour and the band’s trademark swagger. Originally released in 1991, the album revels in tales of vice, romance and rebellion, with highlights including ‘Dames, Booze, Chains and Boots’, featured in the film Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, a sultry take on Jack Nitzsche’s ‘Hard Workin’ Man’, and the tongue-in-cheek ‘I Wanna Get In Your Pants’.

One of the album’s standout moments, ‘Miniskirt Blues’, came together after Lux Interior unexpectedly crossed paths with Iggy Pop outside the studio, leading to an impromptu duet between the two rock ’n’ roll icons. With more drive and playful goings-on, the arrangements sound much looser than on Kill Taker, while remaining just as gut-kicking and brainy. The experimentation, which adds liveliness, doesn't sound measured. Even Joe Lally is allowed to sing, and it just happens to be one of the best songs on the record. Running against the theory that Fugazi is a pack of killjoys, numerous instances pop up where the band's twisted sense of humor is apparent. The sinister ha-has that open "Birthday Pony," the android sample in the pleasant (!) instrumental "Combination Lock," and random piano plinks all manage to find a welcome place. But the most uncharacteristic track is the "Blade Runner in Kingston" slo-mo instrumental "Version," featuring clarinet skronks, dubwise rhythm, incidental zaps, and - get this - no guitars. Picciotto declares in the immediately following "Target" that he hates the sound of guitars. What gives? It's clearly a rumination against corporate America's capitalization/bastardization of "punk" aesthetics. If anyone had the right to comment, it was Fugazi. "Back to Base" and "Downed City" (another dubby intro here) return to more standard issue, hardcore roots Fugazi, full of the soaring guitars that the band is most known for. Closing out the nearly flawless second side is yet another contemplative exit track, "Long Distance Runner." Acting as a daily affirmation of sorts to combat lethargy, MacKaye opines, "If I stop to catch my breath/I might catch a piece of death."
