The pitch bent bell tones and swingeing bass of Prince Jazzbo’s ‘Replay Version’, which was reissued by Mark Ainley & Mark Ernestus’ Basic Replay label, and lent it its title, underlines Early B’s effortlessly mellifluous but rugged flow in a sterling cut that still swills any good dance, proper, and would set the tone for time to come.

Its ‘Imitator Version’ is  hauntingly spangled with FX and running out to that mad coda - so nice you have to play it twice.
