Released in 1993, The Red Shoes is the seventh studio album from British singer-songwriter Kate Bush and the last to be released before her 12 year hiatus.
The album was inspired by the 1948 film of the same name by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, which was based on Hans Christian Anderson’s classic fairytale.
The Red Shoes received a positive response from fans and critics. It peaked at #2 in the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum by the BPI.
The album features five singles - ‘Rubberband Girl’, ‘Eat the Music’, ‘Moments of Pleasure’, ‘The Red Shoes’ and ‘And So Is Love’.
