SAINT ABDULLAH AND JASON NAZARY - EVICTED IN THE MORNING

Saint Abdullah – AKA the Tehran-born brothers Mohammad and Mehdi Mehrabani-Yeganeh – have explored myriad sound palettes over their releases to date, such as their collaboration with Eomac (neé Ian McDonnell) on the absolutely incredible Patience of a Traitor, which explores the strictures of Iranian and Irish religious doctrine through field recordings, samples, full-on Croatian Amor-like noise, and distorted dub, hip-hop and IDM. 

Evicted in the Morning, Saint Abdullah’s collaboration with drummer Jason Nazary of the excellent, but sadly no longer extant, electro-organic-dub-psych jazz duo Anteloper, is equally virtuosic, but more serene and contemplative, veering from exquisitely rendered experimental electronica to outer-limits psych-jazz. Phenomenal stuff.
