Adrianne Lenker recorded her third solo album, abysskiss, after a two-week road trip through the American Southwest. Working with longtime friend Luke Temple, she spent a week recording songs chosen for how naturally they came together in the studio. Some had been around for years, others were written just days earlier. Rather than following a particular theme, the collection is held together by intuition and a shared sense of time and place. The result is a tender, unguarded record that highlights Lenker's remarkable gift for songwriting.
