BONNER KRAMER | THURSTON MOORE - THEY CAME LIKE SWALLOWS - SEVEN REQUIEMS FOR THE CHILDREN OF GAZA
BONNER KRAMER | THURSTON MOORE
Thurston Moore and Kramer (now officially Bonner Kramer) present They Came Like Swallows, their first full-length collaboration. Both central figures in alternative and experimental music, they bring decades of restless invention to a session that feels immediate, instinctive and wholly alive.
Recorded in Miami after years apart, the album began as open-ended improvisation. Kramer swiftly assembled a mobile studio, and the pair worked in the moment, letting ideas unfold naturally. The results move between stripped-back outsider rock, abstract composition and drifting ambient passages, unified by a deep commitment to both melody and freedom.
A striking reworking of a Joy Division song threads through the record, sitting naturally alongside the spontaneous pieces and reflecting their shared devotion to tension, atmosphere and the power of ‘the song’ itself.
For Moore and Kramer, They Came Like Swallows also carries a clear sense of purpose. Conceived as an offering of solidarity and compassion in the face of violence and suffering, the album channels music as connection and resolve. What emerges is a focused, expressive dialogue between two long-standing innovators, driven by instinct, empathy and creative trust.
