As any fule kno, one should be wary of judging a record by its cover, for in ignoring such advice, very few people indeed would have listened to Yeah Yeah Yeah's 2013 albumMosquito.Having listened to Fever Ray's long-awaited new album Radical Romantics(the first since 2017's excellentPlunge),however, it's uncanny just how expertly the cover conveys the wild delights to be found within. Karin Dreijer's new look' combines, to extraordinary effect, Les from Vic Reeves' Big Night Out's denuded dome, Hulk Hogan's lank mullet, a stockbroker's suit circa 1983, the white cotton gloves of a snooker referee, and a makeup technique that even the most outré New Romantic would find a little 'showy' “  brilliant, challenging, and grin-inducing, just like this extraordinary record.
