Confidence Man - Tilt
Released: 01/04/22
Confidence Man don't do sad'. Like the Spinal Tap drummer, Viv, the band's philosophy is simply to have a good time, all of the time. Such is the Australian electro-pop group's commitment to hands-in-the air party goodness that two of the quartet's noms de plume are Janet Planet, and Sugar Bones. If the group were a president, it would be called Groover Cleveland. Put another way, Confidence Man make Scissors Sisters sound like Swans.
In my humble opinion, the band's debut, Tilt, is going to be everywhere this summer. It sounds a like a mix between Underworld, MIA, Erasure, the best rave-house, and the kind of Europop that was ubiquitous in French campsite discos circa 1989. It rules.
