'Ptah, The El Daoud' is the fourth album from spiritual jazz genius Alice Coltrane and was recorded in 1970 in her basement. The album features four lengthy compositions which star Joe Henderson and Pharoah Sanders on duelling horns each placed on one side of the mix. The result is a truly cathartic album and an overlooked gem in her storied career.
