Drexciya's debut is an essential techno album and top-drawer electronic classic. Though the Detroit duo made up of producers James Stinson and Gerald Donald had already released plenty of dancefloor-primed favourites in the form of 12'' singles and EPs, 'Neptune's Lair' was their first full-length effort. Released on Berlin imprint Tresor in 1999, the LP is home to their signature sci-fi synth melodies, hard-hitting drum machines, and Afrofuturist vision. Give the second track 'Andrean Sand Dunes' a spin for an example of its brilliance.
