Originally released in 2016, the Toronto outfit BadBadNotGood's classic IVgets a much-deserved reissue. The glorious result of what happens when four jazz weirdos who love MF Doom, Can, exotica and space-age bachelor pad music decide to make a record, IVis an LP that insolently sticks two fingers up to perceived genre restrictions, thinking, quite rightly, that it would be a capital idea to feature, on one album, guests as varied as Future Islands vocalist Sam Herring, the Montreal hip-hop star Kaytranada (on percussion), the great Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins, avant-garde superstar Colin Stetson on contrabass sax, and R&B singer Charlotte day Wilson. Wonderful stuff.
