Recorded in New York in 1958, Legrand Jazz captures a remarkable meeting between composer Michel Legrand and a line-up of jazz greats led by Miles Davis. For the sessions, Legrand devised distinctive arrangements of jazz standards, bringing together an extraordinary group of musicians including John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Ben Webster, Art Farmer, Donald Byrd, Phil Woods, Paul Chambers, Herbie Mann, Hank Jones, and Eddie Costa.

Upon its release in 1959, the album was widely acclaimed and has since become a celebrated moment in jazz history.

This centenary edition honours Miles Davis with newly designed artwork based on session photographs of Davis and Legrand, alongside a note from Michel Legrand reflecting on the historic recordings—an album he once described as “the record of his dreams”.
