At some point in the ‘90s Neil Young’s 1975 classic Tonight’s The Night was regarded by NME as being one of the most depressing albums ever released. The album is influenced by the grief Neil Young felt at the drug-induced deaths of Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whitten and roadie Bruce Berry. We'd call it a heartbreaking work of staggering genius.
