Carey Harris & Michael Orr - Spread Love (50th Anniversary Remastered Edition)
Tax included.
Fifty years after Carey Harris & Michael Orr self-released ‘Spread Love’, the cult soul album gets another chance to find its audience. Recorded in Cleveland after labels passed on the material, it moves through modern soul, gospel, early disco and jazz-funk, led by the soaring title track. Bernardine Mitchell fronts the stirring ‘Feelings’, while ‘Here I Go (Through These Changes Again)’ was later covered by Johnnie Taylor. Flute, vibraphone and spiritual jazz touches add further colour to a record whose heartfelt message remains central half a century on.
