K’Alexi Shelby’s roots run deep. As a teenager he was immersed in the scene around the Music Box and the Warehouse, absorbing the energy of pioneers like Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles. By high school he was already writing songs, studying the craft of Prince and Marvin Gaye, and sharpening the lyrical instincts that would shape his career. Releases on Trax, DJ International and Transmat followed, alongside collaborations with Marshall Jefferson and Pet Shop Boys.
