Having deservedly won plaudits for the stunning post-rock panoramas of their debut ‘Young Team’, Mogwai slightly wrong-footed their audience on their second record, 1999’s ‘Come On Die Young’. Adopting a more muted and atmospheric tone full of pre-Y2K dread and paranoia, it still stands out from the rest of their catalogue nearly a quarter of a century on.
