Seefeel emerged in early-1990s London as one of the most adventurous groups to blur the boundaries between shoegaze, electronics and ambient minimalism. Their hypnotic textures, loop-driven structures and fusion of guitars with machine-like precision marked them out as pioneers of a new sound world.
This expanded edition of Pure, Impure brings together three of the band’s classic EPs — More Like Space, Plainsong, and Time to Find Me — alongside remixes from Aphex Twin and a previously unreleased demo of ‘Moodswing’. Newly remastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road Studios, the collection features 11 tracks that chart a decisive moment in the group’s evolution, where stripped-down repetition and subtle melodic shifts hinted at their growing fascination with dub, ambient techno and post-rock.
Originally released in 1993 on Too Pure, Pure, Impure signalled a bold step forward for Seefeel, laying the groundwork for their later experiments while remaining one of the most vital and influential releases in their catalogue. This edition also features refreshed artwork.
