Six years after his Grammy-nominated LP5, Apparat — the project of Sascha Ring — unveils A Hum Of Maybe, a record that dives into the shifting terrain of love and self-reflection. It’s a collection of finely detailed, unpredictable songs that explore what it means to live in flux, to occupy the space between certainty and doubt.
Working closely with long-time collaborator Philipp Johann Thimm, who co-wrote and co-produced the album, Ring draws together his dual sensibilities as electronic producer and classical composer. Their ensemble of familiar players — Christoph “Mäckie” Hamann, Jörg Wähner, and Christian Kohlhaas — lends warmth and nuance to its intricate textures, while guest appearances from KÁRYYN and Jan-Philipp Lorenz (aka Bi Disc) add further depth.
Both intimate and expansive, A Hum Of Maybe captures Apparat in motion — a tender portrait of love, uncertainty, and the art of staying open to change.
