Josephine Foster - No More Lamps In The Morning
Tax included.
Josephine Foster revisits songs from across her catalogue on No More Lamps In The Morning, an intimate live-to-tape recording made with husband Victor Herrero on Portuguese guitar. Stripped back to voice and nylon-string guitar, Foster reimagines material from albums including Born Heller, This Coming Gladness and I'm a Dreamer, placing the focus firmly on her distinctive songwriting and poetic lyrics.
Alongside new versions of her own songs are musical settings of poems by Rudyard Kipling and James Joyce, while Gyða Valtýsdóttir adds cello to two tracks. Recorded at Future-Past Studios in Hudson, New York, and mixed by Patrick Higgins, No More Lamps In The Morning captures Foster's folk songs in their most direct and expressive form.
