Laurie Anderson collaborates with New York jazz group Sexmob on Let X=X, a live recording drawn from their performances together. The ensemble – Steven Bernstein, Briggan Krauss, Kenny Wollesen, Douglas Wieselman and Tony Scherr – reworks songs from across Anderson’s catalogue with a groove-led, improvisational approach.
Across 23 performances, familiar pieces are reshaped with richer textures and expanded instrumentation, alongside a rendition of Lou Reed and Metallica’s ‘Junior Dad’. The album’s cover and interior artwork feature paintings by Anderson.
A pioneering multimedia artist working across music, film and visual art, Laurie Anderson has released a series of acclaimed works on Nonesuch, including Life on a String, Homeland, and the Grammy-winning collaboration with Kronos Quartet, Landfall.
