Inventio is a 10-track album that blends glitchy electronics, orchestral arrangements and avant-pop with influences from Nordic folklore. Exploring themes of body dysmorphia, control and identity, it charts a path towards creative and emotional freedom.
Named after Bach's Inventions, the album draws on trilling vocal harmonies and intricate melodic interplay, with echoes of Björk, Elizabeth Fraser and the kulning singing tradition of Lena Willemark. Written over three years in Sweden, the songs gradually came together into a complete work, with contributions from Pelle Westlin, Isak Hedtjärn and Elvira Anderfjärd. Murex also directed every accompanying video, extending the album's distinctive visual world.
