The Yussef Dayes Experience returns with Live From Mt. Fuji, a music-only live recording that captures the group in expansive, free-flowing form. Drawing together reworked favourites and previously unheard compositions, the set highlights the project’s instinctive interplay and sense of momentum.
A central presence throughout the performance is Japanese vocalist and virtuoso Minami Kizuki, whose expressive voice and mastery of the sanshin — a traditional three-stringed instrument native to Amami Island — add a distinctive tonal character to the session. Her contributions weave naturally into the group’s rhythmic drive, expanding the emotional range of the material.
