Malcolm Catto opens the Quatermass Sound Lab archives with a collection of previously unreleased recordings, alternate versions and exclusive mixes. The Heliocentrics co-founder has spent two decades refining an analogue recording approach that has attracted artists including Yussef Dayes, DJ Shadow, Madlib, Quantic, Mulatu Astatke and Orlando Julius.
The compilation features Snapped Ankles' 'Shopping Parade', Wet Enough's 'San Pé', Vanishing Twin's 'Backstroke', plus music from Divine Earth, Insólito Universo, Professor Wouassa and the previously unheard Toyface. More than a retrospective, it highlights Catto's influence as a producer, drummer and collaborator across contemporary music.
