Is This All There Is? is the first part of a trilogy by Anna Calvi exploring identity as something fluid, shaped and reshaped through the experience of falling in love. Sparked by Calvi’s own change in perspective after becoming a parent, the EP centres on elemental questions of modern life: how intimacy is reclaimed, what it means to feel present, and where connection can still be found.
Following her recent work scoring the final seasons of Peaky Blinders and composing an opera with Robert Wilson, Calvi approaches this EP as a four-part cinematic arc. Each track unfolds like a scene, populated by vivid characters and charged atmospheres rather than conventional songs.
Guest collaborators Iggy Pop, Laurie Anderson, Perfume Genius and Matt Berninger appear not as features but as voices within the narrative, inhabiting roles in Calvi’s world.
