Favourite Worst Nightmare was the second album by Arctic Monkeys and proved beyond doubt that the Sheffield rascals were no flash-in-the-pan. It is full of their high octane and highly original form of indie rock and boasts future classics such as Brianstorm, Teddy Picker and Fluorescent Adolescent. A harder and more energised album than their debut, it is the last time the band played with a completely straight bat before their more thoughtful and expansive later work. Their debut was brilliant and Favourite Worst Nightmare could be even better.
