Who doesn't like a bit of Goth pop? While on previous albums Zola Jesus (AKA Nika Roza Danilova) has largely played the role of auteur, meticulously crafting every aspect of her sound and look, album number six sees her first collaboration, with producer Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Earth) and drummer and percussionist Matt Chamberlain (Fiona Apple, Bob Dylan, David Bowie).

Arkhon runs the spectrum from songs whose weight lies in their bare simplicity, such as Desire' “ an elegiac piano composition about the end of a relationship that was recorded acoustically in a single take “ to towering industrial pop tracks like The Fall'.
