Bicep’s third album, SLUG, takes the Belfast-born duo’s sound in several directions, from pounding rave and breakbeat to wistful ambient electronics and dreamy pop. Drawing on their CHROMA project and six years of musical exploration, Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson combine soaring melodies, gritty analogue electronics and hefty basslines. Collaborators including Clark, Eartheater, George Riley, Kehina and Saskia bring further variety, helping turn SLUG into their most wide-ranging record yet. Expect euphoric dancefloor moments, hazy trip-hop and plenty of melancholy along the way.
