Bonobo presents Distance in Static, a record that draws together the many facets of Simon Green’s sound. Collaborators including Joy Crookes, Ichiko Aoba, Nilüfer Yanya, Arooj Aftab, Nicole Miglis and Aanya Martin appear across a set of songs that balance intimate vocals with detailed electronic production.
Recorded between Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and Neil Young’s Broken Arrow Ranch, the album incorporates lyrics in English, Urdu and Japanese alongside Iranian samples, guzheng recordings and Green’s own processed instrumentation.
