Across eight tracks, Sharpe pushes steelband into jazz, funk and disco territory, from the rare groove favourite ‘Can’t You See Me’ to the deep, driving ‘Boogie Kaiso’ and the breezy ‘Weight’. ‘Yoga Styling’ and ‘Punk Party’ lean into breaks and loose-limbed rhythms, while ‘Passing Time’ strips it back to solo pan. A joyful, inventive record that shows just how far the instrument can go.
