Boris and Michio Kurihara reunited at Tokyo’s FEVER in December 2018, drawing heavily from their collaborative album Rainbow alongside Boris material and Kurihara solo pieces. Live at FEVER 20181229 captures the group at full force, moving from towering psychedelic rock to near-silence and loose, funky passages. Kurihara’s distinctive guitar cuts through the trio’s formidable weight, particularly on ‘Shine’, ‘The Wind’s Twelve Quarters’, ‘Starship Narrator’ and ‘My Rain’. Recorded and mixed by Soichiro Nakamura of White Heaven, it catches the scale, dynamics and raw charge of the performance.
