Brian Eno’s Another Day On Earth was his first song-based album since 1992’s Nerve Net, combining electronic sound design with warm, understated songwriting. Originally released in 2005, it features a young Jon Hopkins alongside Nell Catchpole, J. Peter Schwalm and Leo Abrahams, with lyrics co-written by Michel Faber and Danny Hillis. Its atmospheric songs move between sweeping choruses and more intimate passages, capturing Eno at his most melodic. The album also marks the revival of Opal Records, the label Eno founded in 1988, and includes the previously Japan-only track ‘The Demon of the Mines’.
