Smush together Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy, add a liberal pinch of DFA danceability, and hey presto, you get the gist of the excellent debut from Brooklyn-based four-piece Model/Actriz, Dogsbody. It's industrial, it's art-punk, it's noisy as fuck “ it's ruddy fantastic and perfect for fans of the aforementioned, plus James Chance, Xiu Xiu, and Cabaret Voltaire. The once legitimately good Health have inexplicably spent the last decade sullying industrial's good name by synthesising it with the cheesiest aspects of goth and Emo (one imagines in an attempt to get on the radio), so thank goodness for Model/Actriz “ here to remind us just how truly thrilling industrial music can be.
