During a prolific 18-month creative run to rival King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, between 2021 and 2023 Dry Cleaning released two critically acclaimed John Parish-produced studio albums, New Long Leg (2021) and Stumpwork (2022), as well as the five-track Swampy EP. Throw in all of the extensive touring and festival shows, and its understandable that the south London quartet might need a bit of time off to regroup (as it were). But those, like us, who need their fix of the band’s terrific post-punk racket (think Life Without Buildings crossed with The Feelies) need not fear, for Florence Shaw and co. have packaged up their first two EPs – Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks and Sweet Princess – as one single vinyl. If, like many fans, you jumped in with Dry Cleaning on their debut, then this release will absolutely act as a ‘new’ album, for the songs on both EPs are as great as anything they’ve released since.
