¡Forward Russia! formed in Leeds in 2004, bringing together Whiskas, Tom Woodhead, Katie Nicholls and Rob Canning from earlier, short-lived projects. Their debut album, Give Me a Wall, arrived in 2006 and quickly earned a reputation for its tightly wound, rhythm-driven take on post-punk.
