Helen return with Linda's Head, their first album in over ten years. The Pacific Northwest trio of Liz Harris (Grouper), Scott Simmons and Jed Bindeman build on the intimate dream pop of 2015's The Original Faces, blending soft-focus shoegaze with wistful melodies and understated emotional weight. The title hints at escape, dislocation and imagined landscapes, themes echoed in lyrics filled with waves, storms and longing. Influenced by the New Zealand indie underground, the album finds beauty in melancholy, with the band's long-standing friendship giving these songs their quiet strength.
