Valentina Magaletti (Moin), Al Wootton and Susumu Mukai (Vanishing Twin) come together once more as Holy Tongue for Basilikum, an album built from improvised sessions recorded in the Swiss Alps and London. Using vintage drum machines as a starting point, the trio shape instinctive performances where dub techniques, ritual percussion, free improvisation and cinematic psychedelia coexist without fixed boundaries.
Every stage of the process, from playing and recording to editing and transformation, forms part of the composition itself. Sounds emerge, dissolve and return in new forms, creating music that is fluid, physical and unpredictable. Moving between meditative passages and driving rhythms, Basilikum captures three adventurous musicians following instinct rather than genre.
