Janis Joplin’s second and final solo album, Pearl, was recorded in 1970 with the Full Tilt Boogie Band and released posthumously in 1971. Her raw, powerful vocals run through some of her best-known songs, including ‘Me and Bobby McGee’, ‘Mercedes Benz’, ‘Cry Baby’ and ‘Move Over’. A defining record of her career, Pearl remains a potent showcase for Joplin’s bluesy rock sound and unmistakable voice.
