Kelly Moran’s Don’t Trust Mirrors marks a pivotal chapter for the New York-based composer and producer. Initially conceived in 2019 as a rhythmic follow-up to her Warp debut Ultraviolet, the project was interrupted by personal upheaval and the halted tours of the pandemic.
That detour led instead to 2024’s Moves in the Field, described by The New York Times as “softhearted but steel-skinned.” Returning now to the material she once set aside, Moran crafts an album that explores distortion, reflection, and the patient work of rebuilding.
Across ten tracks, including a collaboration with Warp labelmate Bibio, she shapes prismatic sound worlds that refract rhythm and texture into a vivid journey of self-reconnection.
