Written during a period of self-doubt and transition, Detached From The Rest Of You finds Loraine James reshaping her sound with striking economy. Co-producing 2025’s ‘Clandestine’ EP with Anysia Kym opened the door to more direct, song-led structures, and here she moves away from sprawling club forms toward taut, purposeful arrangements.
Her production is stripped back to skeletal rhythms and flickering detail, nodding to Aoki Takamasa, Ryoji Ikeda and the early-00s Clicks & Cuts axis. Space becomes a key instrument, framing vocals and sparse keys with quiet intensity.
