Tax included.
Los Orientales de Paramonga emerged from the coastal Peruvian city of Paramonga in the late 1960s, blending surf rock, psychedelic guitar and tropical rhythms into a distinctive strain of Peruvian cumbia. Led by guitarists Víctor Ramírez and Maximiliano Chávez, the group gained national attention when their 1970 single ‘Lobos Al Escape’ topped the charts.
After a split in the original lineup, Víctor Ramírez’s version of the band signed to Sono Radio and recorded the albums Con Sabor Tropical and Tremendo Ritmo alongside a string of celebrated singles. Mixing cumbia with guaracha, salsa and guaguancó, the group became known for their relentless touring and high-energy performances.
This collection gathers both LPs alongside key 45 RPM cuts, capturing Los Orientales de Paramonga at their peak.
