Founded in 1979 by Mad Professor, Ariwa Sounds grew from a South London front room studio into one of the UK’s most vital independent reggae labels, releasing hundreds of records across lovers rock, dub and roots.
Curated by Melodies International, this 15-track compilation spans 45 years of the label’s output, following earlier collaborations and shaped by time spent working with Mad Professor both in Osaka and at Ariwa’s studio. Rather than a straight ‘best of’, it presents a broad and personal snapshot of the catalogue.
