Speaking of game-changing artists, Domino Records has released this lovely ‘Fully Analogue Cut’ edition of 1988’s Isn’t Anything – which is to be celebrated, as, depending on my mood, it’s my favourite Valentines record. To explain, while Loveless is perfect when I want to envelop my noggin in warm and woozy guitar loveliness, the sheer sonic assault of Isn’t Anything's ragged and visceral pitch-bent sheets of noise makes it a go-to when I want to feel as though my brain is being buzzed by a Spitfire. Which is surprisingly often.
