Created after touring and studio life ground to a halt in 2020, Music for Empty Stadiums grew from Riverola asking what the most euphoric form of ambient music might sound like. The result moves away from his dancefloor work as John Talabot towards something more introspective while retaining a sense of scale and momentum. Released as OR — Riverola’s initials and the Catalan word for “gold” — it marks a distinct strand of his work and one of his most personal projects.
