Penelope Isles return with 3, an album born from time apart and the experiences that brought siblings Jack and Lily Wolter back together. Following solo projects, extensive touring and a break from the band, the pair reunited to write a set of songs inspired by a month spent surfing in Lagos, Portugal.
Blending radiant melodies with bittersweet emotion, 3 captures the chemistry at the heart of Penelope Isles. A year after writing the material, the band travelled to Scotland’s Isle of Lewis to record the album live at Black Bay Studio, a former fish factory overlooking the coast. The setting and live approach brought a new sense of immediacy to their music.
The record also marks a new chapter for the Brighton group, with drummer Joe Taylor joining as a full member. Across songs rooted in friendship, family, love and loss, shimmering guitars, rich harmonies and dynamic performances give the album a warmth that feels both intimate and expansive.
Inspired by places, people and memories from the last few years, 3 finds Penelope Isles returning with renewed purpose and a deeper connection to one another.
