Radwan Ghazi Moumneh & Frédéric D. Oberland - Eternal Life No End - ليلة ظلماء ملعونة، كحياة طالبيها
Radwan Ghazi Moumneh & Frédéric D. Oberland
Tax included.
Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart) and Frédéric D. Oberland (Oiseaux-Tempête) formalise years of collaboration with their debut album as a duo — a stark, emotionally charged synthesis of their shared language.
Across seven tracks, juddering electronics meet buzuk, rababa, clarineau and saxophone, threaded with Moumneh’s Arabic vocals. The record was developed over two years, beginning as improvised duets at Montréal’s Hotel2Tango studio in 2023, before expanding into widescreen compositions shaped by outrage and lament at a violent political present.
The Arabic subtitle translates roughly as “A dark, cursed night, like the seekers themselves,” framing the album as both protest and elegy. Trancelike percussion, processed strings and shuddering bass blur the sensory and the suppressed, while Oberland’s sax and synth work (Buchla, Deckard’s Dream) coil around Moumneh’s voice and buzuk in waves of tension and release.
A Eternal Life No End stands as a poetic, defiant meditation on injustice, displacement and collective urgency.
