Ricardo Marrero & The Group - A Taste
Tax included.
Originally issued in 1976, Ricardo Marrero & The Group’s A Taste has become a prized slice of Latin funk, jazz-funk and soul. Its scarcity stems from its release on TSG Records, a notorious tax-scam label whose records received little promotion or distribution. Beyond its rarity, there’s plenty to dig into: the fiery Latin funk of ‘Babalonia’ and ‘Algo’, the gospel-flavoured ‘Get Yourself Together’, the earthy soul-jazz of ‘And We’ll Make Love’, and the Nuyorican pulse of ‘Vengo’ and ‘A Taste Of Latin’. A wide-ranging record with serious dancefloor appeal.
