Robin Carolan provides the soundtrack to Robert Eggers' Werwulf, drawing on medieval instruments, folk traditions and experimental electronics to conjure the superstitions of medieval England. Hurdy-gurdies, manipulated strings, farming tools and eerie vocal textures create a suitably unsettling atmosphere. Contributors include Laura Cannell, Daniel Pioro, Jack Bevan of Foals and Antonina Nowacka, while Ethel Cain performs the original Middle English song 'Wynter Waxeth'. An ominous blend of ancient sounds, spectral drones and dissonant orchestration, with echoes of The Haxan Cloak and Mica Levi.
