Saba Alizadeh is a crucial part of the experimental music world in Iran, using both traditional instrumentation and experimental noise techniques, along with field recordings and samples, to weave together powerful electroacoustic pieces that carry a sense of place while totally ignoring dumb ideas of what ‘world music’ sounds like. Initially self-released within Iran, Scattered Memories has now been pressed to vinyl by Karlrecords.
