Say She She return with a sharp, dancefloor-ready pairing taken from Cut & Rewind, released via Karma Chief Records. Rooted in disco, funk and soul, the NYC trio balance elegance and bite, driven by the powerhouse vocal blend of Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham and Nya Gazelle Brown.
The title track ‘Cut & Rewind’ opens with sweeping harmonies and a taut, low-slung groove, marrying post-punk attitude with classic disco-funk propulsion. Personal in tone yet broad in reach, it nods subtly to songwriting tradition while staying locked to the rhythm.
On the flip, ‘Disco Life’ pushes the pulse higher, transforming the dancefloor into a space of resistance and release. Built on buoyant grooves and radiant vocals, the track directly challenges the racism and homophobia behind the 1979 “Disco Demolition Night,” reframing disco as a culture of inclusion, freedom and collective joy.
Produced by Sergio Rios (Orgone), these two cuts distil the spirit of Cut & Rewind: socially aware, irresistibly physical music made to move bodies and minds in equal measure.
