Alabama duo Sister Ray Davies expand the world of Holy Island with a companion EP of remixes and alternate versions.
Pye Corner Audio reworks ‘Aidan’ with a tougher, pulse-driven edge and stretches ‘Morning Bell’ into a more spacious, near-ambient form. Malaphors – the alias of Chris Tomsett – offers a hazy electronic take on ‘Nave’.
The band also revisit their own material. ‘Iona (Portside Dub)’ was created by routing stems through effects units and capturing the results live, while ‘Big Ships (Guitar Armada)’ brings together nine acoustic guitarists recorded to tape at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio B, creating a dense, collective swell of sound.
